A Welcome from the President
Hello, My
name is Cathy Christoff-Kaminski, your new PTA Board President. I
am excited to have an opportunity to work with you this upcoming year.
Our main objective this year is to become a cohesive student body and
get you, the parent-caregiver involved. PTA
is a vital aspect of our children’s education. When parents
participate in school events and develop a relationship with educators,
their children are more likely to achieve high academic
performance. More than 85 research studies conducted over 30
years show that kids do better when parents are involved. Grades
are higher, test scores improve, attendance increases. The
role of the PTA is to keep parents informed. Involved parents can
understand the challenges schools face and become part of the
solution. PTA supports education through active participation and
advocacy. We have some exciting new programs this year
including Script Gift Cards and International Night. We also look
forward to our yearly Lowell Jamboree and our new social time favorite,
Trivia Night. Despite attrition from
our new redistricting, I feel confident that our neighborhood will rise
to the occasion. Many programs at Lowell would not be
possible without your PTA. Here are just a few: ALL SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES HOLIDAY PROGRAM FACILITIES
